Violet Stavrovich Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Violet Stavrovich, nee Kufrin of Morris passed away Saturday evening, November 29, 2014 at the Regency Healthcare Facility in Morris. She was 92 years old. Violet was born February 7, 1922 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Paul and Caroline (Misic) Kufrin. She was educated in Hinsdale Schools and graduated from Hinsdale High School with the class of 1941. On November 10, 1945 she married Thomas Stavrovich in Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Chicago. She was employed with Crane Plumbing during WW II and then with Sears in Oak Brook, IL for over 20 years retiring in 1985. After retirement, she moved to Morris to live with her daughter and her family. Violet was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City. Surviving is one daughter; Carol (Allyn) Knight of Morris; one sister, Sylvia Quick of Lombard,IL; four grandchildren; Robyn (John) White of Mansfield, TX, Garrick (Ann) Stavrovich of Westfield, NJ,Brian (Heather) Knight of Mt. Prospect, IL and Lindsay (Ian) Little of Crest Hill, IL, and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas in November, 1975; her only son, Thomas J. in October of 1999; two sisters, Rose and Caroline Kufrin; one brother, George; a sister-in-law Rose Kufrin; and a brother-in-law Lawrence Quick. Visitation will be held Friday December 5, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the U. C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home located at 301 West Washington Street in Morris. A Celebration of Violet’s life will take place at 11:00 am Saturday December 6, 2014 in the U. C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home with Father Edward J. Howe,CR, as Presider. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside. Memorials may be made in Violet’s name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted with U.C.
